Course Information for Students

The college shall ensure that standards for credit and non-credit courses are established and adhered to by all divisions providing instruction.  Each time a credit or non-credit offering is scheduled by the college, the instructor of record is responsible for presenting, at the beginning of the course, a comprehensive statement to the students, in writing (and orally, if feasible), covering basic information about the course.

Procedure

(A) The course information sheet (syllabus) should be developed by the instructor and presented to students at the beginning of the course.  This document must meet basic minimum requirements.  The basic information is to include, but not be limited to, the following:

Instructor’s Name
Division Name
Office Room Number, or where you can be located on campus
Campus Location
Office Hours:  Full-time: specific days/times

Part-time:  “by appointment” or before/ after class, if possible

(B) This document must be kept on file in the Academic Division office.  Academic Deans are responsible for ensuring that all faculty are aware of and meet requirements of the Guideline on Course Information for Students.
