Q. How should I update my address?

A. You need to update your address with Tri-C at the Admission & Records Office or in my Tri-C space.  Providing your address to the Refund Adviser Center will not ensure future delivery of refunds to that address.

Q. When Will I Receive My Refund Check?

A. Paper refund checks take up to 14 days to be mailed after the credit is disbursed on the studentís account. Direct Deposits may be deposited and available within one week.

  • Cuyahoga Community College does not have control over the time it takes for the mail to be delivered. Direct Deposits are available and recommended to expedite this process.

If you do not see a credit balance on your student account, there is nothing to refund at this time.

If youíre waiting for a financial aid check, see Financial Assistance Dates for disbursement schedule.  Note that the disbursement date is the beginning of the 1-2 week refund process.

Q. I have had a credit on my account for more than two weeks, and still havenít had a refund processed on my student account. Why?

A. Some credits may be ineligible for refunds, or require approval, delaying the processing time of the refund.

  • Third-party sponsored students are reviewed before being refunded to the student. Often, third-party sponsors require refunds generated from their sponsorship to be returned to the sponsor.

  •  If a student withdraws from all their classes, or reduces their tuition hours, financial aid or sponsorship may be reduced or withdrawn. There may be a delay while the studentís account is being reviewed for any necessary adjustments.

  • If a student received an Emergency Loan There may be a delay for additional account review.

The student also may have a mail hold on their account, preventing them from receiving their refund. This is generated when any mailing from Tri-C to the student comes back as undeliverable.

Q. I have not received my refund check, what can I do?

A. First, verify your address and make any needed adjustments online or at Admissions & Registration.

  • If the check was mailed to an inactive address, the check may be returned to the Refund Advisor Center.

  • If the check is still available, it can be mailed to the new address by calling 1-800-239-4211.  You are still required to update your address with the College.

Again, a student can log in to Tri-C's Secure Refund Enrollment Site for their refund to be delivered to their account via Direct Deposit and avoid many potential mailing delays.

Q. I dropped classes that I paid for before the term began--when will my payment be refunded?

A. Refunds arenít processed until two weeks after the beginning of the term. If you wish to have your payment returned before the term begins, you may make an email request to the Bursar@tri-c.edu, or contact the Enrollment Center.

Q. Can I pick-up my refund check?

A. Refund checks are not available for pick-up. The checks are printed in large volume at an out of state locationómaking them unavailable for pick-up. Direct Deposit is offered to avoid any delivery delays that may occur via conventional mail.

Q. Why did I receive a financial aid refund, but I still have a balance to pay on my account?

  • The balance may have occurred due to a financial aid adjustment generated from a change in class schedule and attendance or review of aid applications.

  • If you decline to authorize financial aid to cover miscellaneous charges to your account (parking fines, late fees, installment plan fees, emergency funds etc...), you are responsible for paying such charges independent of any financial aid received. You can fill out a ďRights and ResponsibilitiesĒ form available at http://www.tri-c.edu/financialassistance/Pages/Forms.aspx from financial aid that will allow these fees to be paid in the future.
